Quinn's 15-month Doctor Appointment
Quinn had his 15-month check up yesterday. He screamed nearly the entire time....when the nurse measured and weighed him, took his temp, listened to his heart, etc. Screamed bloody murder, like someone had twisted his arm off. We just got him settled down, when our doctor came in....and talked with us....and the minute he tried to look in Quinn's ears and mouth, etc, Quinn started screaming again! Not a relaxing appointment at all, and we hope we heard everything the doctor said. It was good both Mike and I were there together, as it was a two parent job for sure. Quinn now weighs 19 pounds, 1 ounce, which is still less than the 3rd percentile for weight. Our doctor is no longer wanting to do weight checks, however, as Q seems to be just "small" for now, but following that "small" curve just fine. Quinn is in the 25th percentile for height, and 75th for head size. He got one shot. We return at age 2. I'm sure we'll be in again before then, though, for his flu shot and for other illnesses this winter....
The doctor was glad to see Quinn walking. He asked whether Quinn can stoop or squat to pick something up and stand back up again. (he can) Quinn's vocabulary continues to grow too. He has added a few words over the past couple of months, like, squirrel, hat, Mooo (cow), ChooChoo!(train) & fish. He also says two phrases/sentences: Where Is It? (sounds more like WheresIt?) and Where did it go? (sounds more like WhereDiGo?)
Quinn is very much a toddler now, so much so that if you looked up the definition in the dictionary for "toddler", it might very well say Quinn!
Here is Quinn after we got home today from his doctor's appointment. You'd never know that just minutes earlier he was a screaming his little 75% head off! (But trust us, it wasn't pleasant, and I'm sure the staff and waiting room parents were all very, very happy to see us leave...I think they had voted him off the island for sure....) I'm thinking this age may not be the best time to take him for his first haircut. As you can see from the photo, he may need one ASAP!

Who me? Difficult at the doctor's? Little 'ol innocent me? Don't believe a word my mom says! I was precious! (WRONG!)
