9 month check-up

Quinn had his 9-month well-baby check-up today. Dr. Miga said Quinn is doing great. Quinn weighs 16 pounds, 11 ounces, which is in the 3rd percentile. His length has also dropped to the 15th percentile. He wants us to bring him in again in 6 weeks for a weight check, just to make sure he doesn't drop below the 3rd percentile. He said he often sees a dip in weight at the 9 month appointment, as babies are making the transition from "eating like a baby, to eating like a toddler." He wants us to continue feeding him as we are (half of what he eats now is table food...bits of pasta, cheese, chicken, cut up fruit (new favorite is kiwi) and veggies, toast & butter, cracker; the other half is the typical pureed things like baby cereal, yogurt, cottage cheese, sweet potato, peas, pears, etc) He also nurses several times a day. The only foods we are to continue to avoid are peanuts, peanut butter, and shellfish, and of course, anything he could choke on. Since our family has no food allergy history, we can begin to offer him citrus and cut-up blueberries, etc.
Quinn also had his blood taken today from his big toe to check to see if he's anemic. (he's not)
