Pirates & Puppies
On Friday, we noticed that Quinn was rubbing one of his eyes a lot. It was red, and clearly bothering him. We thought maybe he had pink eye, or could there be an eyelash in there? We decided at the last minute on Friday to take him to the doctor....turns out that he had a scratched cornea! We don't know how that happened...probably he had some dirt/sand on his hand, rubbed his eye, and caused the scratch. So, he had to wear this patch for one day. Our pediatrician warned us that his depth perception would be "off" while wearing the patch (could his depth perception get any worse, we wondered?) , so we would need to watch him even more carefully. We went for a re-check yesterday, and the scratch is already gone, and the patch was removed. The worst part of the entire ordeal for Quinn was removing the band-aid patch....OUCH!
Here is Cousin Emma, with Quinn , aka "Patches", with some of my sister's new batch of puppies. Diana and Leigh are "foster parents" for puppies, through the Dumb Friend's League. The take puppies who are too young for adoption into their home for "socialization". They usually have the puppies for several weeks, and then they are returned (boo hoo time) to be adopted by another family. This batch is awfully cute! It is very exciting each time they get new puppies, and I'm sure this BLOG will be full of puppy photos over the years!
