The Decade Long Gap
There are some defininte disadvantages to waiting 9 years to have a 3rd child. First of all, the baby equipment is TOTALLY different, and even though we had saved some things, a lot of it pales in comparison to the new stuff. Next, getting used to the sleep, or lack of, is certainly an adjustment after many blissful years of uninterrupted sleep. Feeding and cleaning up after an infant can also be a shock; after all, we haven't had anything to do with bathing or cleaning our girls for a lOOOONG time. And, of course, the obvious things like going out to restaurants, taking vacations, getting together with friends....all of it is a bit more complicated now....OK, it's A LOT more complicated now. HOWEVER, if anyone is interested in the benefits to waiting a decade to have the third child? Meet child #2, our Mother's Helper.
