Bar Mitzvah, by Maya

On Saturday night I attended the Bar Mitzvah of my friend Spencer. It was very elaborate: they rented a big party house, and the theme was Hockey/Casino. Some of the activities included Black Jack, a professional photo shoot, dance floor, games with prizes, cotton candy, chocolate dipping fountain, and best of all EATING! The food choice included a pasta bar, prime rib buffet, chinese food, or all-american food. I chose the Chinese and it was delicious. There were lots of adults there as well as almost the entire 7th grade. There was a candle lighting ceremony and a slide show with pictures of Spencer and his friends growing up. At the end of the party, they put bubble wrap all over the dance floor and we got to all jump on it until every bubble was popped. It was very loud, but very fun. The party favors were a solid chocolate hockey puck with a picture of Spencer attatched, and a water bottle that said " Spencer's Bar Mitzvah, January 22 2004" and had pictures of hockey sticks on it. I had the best time hanging out with my friends, even though the music they played wasn't very good. That was the second Bar/Bat Mitzvah I had ever been to, and I sure hope it's not the last!
